Sam Hansen is Vice President of Residential Lending and a team leader with the Hansen-Tyler Team at CrossCountry Mortgage. He brings a powerful combination of industry expertise, competitive drive, and genuine care for the clients and professionals he serves.
A longtime top producer, Sam has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career. His experience includes running the #1 retail branch in California and managing mortgage branches that closed more than $1.5 billion in annual loan volume for a major mortgage bank. That background has given him a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver an exceptional client experience while building the systems, processes, and culture needed for a team to thrive.
A former college football player with a degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering, Sam approaches challenges with discipline, focus, and a natural ability to solve problems. His time at the Merchant Marine Academy also helped shape the integrity and accountability that define his leadership. Whether he is improving team workflows, refining the lending process, or navigating a complex financing scenario, Sam is known for seeing the bigger picture and finding a path forward.
Sam continues to originate loans personally, keeping him closely connected to the clients and real estate partners the team serves. He is also a sought-after mortgage industry speaker and an active real estate investor who brings practical, real-world insight to every conversation.
Sam splits his time between San Diego, CA, and Coeur d’Alene, ID. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, along with competitive softball, football, and golf.
